ASRY and University of Technology Bahrain sign MoU to Enhance Academic Collaboration

University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY).  The agreement is set to grow young Bahraini talent by giving UTB students practical training at the yard, thereby strengthening cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The signing ceremony took place at ASRY's headquarters in Hidd. UTB was represented by its President, Dr Hassan Ali Al Mulla, and ASRY by the Vice-President for Corporate Support, Shaikh Duaij bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

Under the MoU, students of the university will be granted opportunities for practical training and field visits that support their access to direct guidance from experienced and qualified professionals. They will work side by side with ASRY specialists on live projects that mirror daily work.

UTB has also opened enrolment to ASRY employees for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The two sides will run joint training, making use of the university's facilities to support knowledge transfer and skills building.

Dr Hasan Almulla said: ‘This agreement helps align our educational approach with the demands of the labor market. We are proud to work with ASRY; this partnership adds real value to our students by giving them advanced practical experience.’

Shaikh Duaij bin Mohammed Al Khalifa said: ‘The signing of this agreement reflects ASRY's dedication to supporting and developing young national talent and to strengthening engineering and industrial know-how in the Kingdom by passing our experience to the next generation.’

This partnership shows both sides’ drive to form long-term collaborations that contribute to Bahrain’s national vision by preparing outstanding, well-qualified talent to lead in the engineering, maritime and industrial sectors.
