The judges of 2012’s Seatrade MEIS Awards chose ASRY for its continual operation of an annual multi-million dollar CSR policy that uses a region-leading three-element structure, which includes a constant annual social calendar, ongoing landmark environment projects, and a comprehensive education programme for employees both current and future.
Safety Award
Lloyds List Middle East & Indian Subcontinent Awards 2012
ASRY was the recipient of this safety award after 35 years of virtually accident-free operations, and specifically for formalising its leading safety experience into a Shiprepair Safety Passport, which will not only optimise the yard’s safety training and development, but will also help the regional industry, especially the younger yards in Oman and Qatar, to learn best practice safe marine repair operations.

This award recognises a ship yard and/or shipbuilder in Asia that has consistently met the needs of its customers in these times of tight capacity. Entries will be judged based on the ability of the yard to offer cost effective and quality services while keeping a keen eye on safety. For shipbuilders, criteria include the on time delivery of quality vessels that cater to buyer requirements and showcase innovative designs while adhering to high environmental standards.
