ASRY Takes Part in Annual Gulf Ship Finance Forum

Dr Ahmed Al Abri, Chief Executive Officer of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), took part in the 19th annual Gulf Ship Finance Forum, organized by Marine Money and held in Dubai this April. The regional event brought together a strong line-up of industry leaders, maritime experts and finance professionals from across the region and beyond.

Dr Al Abri participated as a speaker in one of the forum’s main sessions, which addressed the challenges of securing financing for maritime projects, with a particular focus on shipbuilding and the development of repair yard infrastructure.

Speaking on the sidelines of the forum, Dr Al Abri said:

‘We are taking part in this major gathering of decision-makers from the maritime and finance sectors to draw attention to the importance of supporting shipbuilding and repair through effective financing opportunities, especially for projects aimed at expanding and upgrading companies involved in these activities across the region. Offering tailored financial solutions for such initiatives helps boost the operational and productive capacity of maritime firms by enabling them to add new assets to their fleets and ensure their sustainability, all while encouraging long-term regional growth in the sector.’

The forum welcomed a strong showing of experts, lenders and investors from around the globe to explore ways to finance the future of the maritime industry through practical, sustainable approaches.

Held annually in Dubai for the past 19 years, the Marine Money Gulf Ship Finance Forum features keynote talks, one-on-one meetings and panel sessions. It remains one of the most well-regarded fixtures on the regional maritime finance calendar.
