ASRY (Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard) is the Arabian Gulf’s leading maritime repair and fabrication facility. Founded in 1977 in Bahrain, the multi-service yard operates in four sectors – Ship Repair & Conversion, Rig Repair & Conversion, Naval Repair & Conversion, and Fabrication & Engineering.
ASRY’s variety of facilities, from graving dock to floating dock, to slipways, to 4km of alongside berth space, means maximum flexibility in accommodating ship schedules.
Every major repair sub-contractor, classification society, and specialist workshop has an on-site presence at ASRY so that any repair requirements can be met without delay.
Bahrain’s trade policies mean that importing and exporting parts and labour is quicker and more efficient than regional yards, meaning faster turnaround for all repair projects.
MANAMA: ASRY, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has promoted Rob Bryant to be the new General Manager of the Offshore Services Division, effective immediately. Bryant brings more than 40 years worth of shipyard management experience with global leaders such as A&P Group, CTC Marine, and KVASIR. He will lead the Offshore Services division of ASRY which focuses on rig repair work across the Middle East and globally.
Announcing the new appointment to the senior management team, ASRY Chief Executive, Nils Kristian Berge, commented, “Filling this key position from within the company gives ASRY customers the assurance that we will continue to provide the leading rig repair quality for which we are renowned and that the transition will be smooth and uninterrupted. I’m confident Rob’s experience in yard management and relationships with key customers will boost our Offshore Services Division to new heights. He will lead the division to fulfil our ambitious plans to expand into the Saudi Arabian market, and consolidate our global reputation.”
Bryant, a UK national, was promoted from Commercial Manager at ASRY, and prior to that spent three years as a Sales & Marketing Consultant with KVASIR Group, the UK-based Offshore and Marine project management firm. Before that he was Commercial Director at A&P Group for seven years, developing their commercial operations and overseeing the re-opening of two major yards. He has also spent time in Singapore as a Senior Consultant to CTC Marine, and as Commercial Director at Wear Dockyard Group in the UK.
